Back to School and Built for the Future
As students across Appalachia head back to school, we’re celebrating the creative ways communities are investing in their future.
In Cherokee, North Carolina, Cherokee Boys Club is putting electric school buses to work for more than transportation. Through the Native Electric project, the organization is exploring how clean energy and innovative technology can support students while strengthening community infrastructure.
This is what blue skies resilience can look like: investing in everyday systems that serve communities now while building capacity that can be valuable when disasters and disruptions happen.
The strongest disaster recovery solutions do not always begin after a disaster. Sometimes they are built long before the storm arrives.
